TRUSTED BY ACCOUNTING TEAMS ACROSS ANZ

2025 was the year firms learned to chat with AI. 2026 has been the year of agents, where you send it off to do a job instead of asking it a question.

My read on 2027 is that AI crosses a line the first two didn't. Work starts moving inside the practice. Something takes ownership of a defined piece of it and runs while you're busy with the parts that need judgment, and your exposure moves with it. Who signed that off. Where did the client file end up. What happens when it gets something wrong in March and nobody notices until June.

Those aren't tooling questions. They're the ones a partner has to answer, and most firms will walk into next year without having been asked them once.

There are seven of them. You'll have answered all seven by the end of our session.

Why 2027 is different

Three steps, ninety minutes

One. See the shift. What coworking with AI actually means inside a practice, with real examples of what's working in accounting and advisory firms right now, including a few that didn't.

Two. Score your firm. We take the seven questions below and work them against your own practice, live. Ten minutes, honestly answered. You'll have your number before we're done.

Three. Rank your next three moves. Not a generic roadmap. The three things that matter most given the score you just gave yourself.

You leave with the scorecard filled in and the shortlist ranked. Both fit on one page, which is the point of putting them in front of your partners.

The seven questions

This isn't a quiz. It's the seven things that decide whether a firm can hand real work to AI next year, or whether it spends 2027 buying licences and wondering why nothing shifted.

1. Who owns it? If the answer is a committee, write down the date it last met.

2. What happens to client data? Could you tell a client today, without checking, what happens to their file if someone in your office pastes it into a chatbot?

3. What are you paying for? And separately, what's actually open on a Tuesday afternoon.

4. Which jobs? Name three. Not areas, not functions. Jobs, the kind with a start and a finish.

5. Who can actually do this? And what happens to the firm's capability the week your best AI person takes leave.

6. Could you hand the job over? If a new grad couldn't run it from what's written down, nothing else can either.

7. How would you know? If it got something wrong in March, when would you find out, and from whom.

What we'll get into along the way

What firms are doing right now, with real examples from practices your size.

Where the tool race stands, and the question worth asking before you sign anything.

The use cases that are returning something measurable, ranked.

The rollout foundations that get a team using it rather than just licensed for it.

Agentic AI, AI-enabled workflows, coworking with AI. What each one actually means, and which one you're being sold.

Live, with the Q&A open the whole way through.

Yours to keep, on top of the session.

“

Inbal's session on building agents sent me straight home to try one. A cost allocation job that used to take my team an hour, converting time, working out each client's share, building the disbursement sheet, now runs in about ten minutes with an agent I built myself. I was blown away by how accurate it was, and how easy it was to build.

FAQs

Chat was 2025. Agents are 2026. In 2027, AI moves again — from something you use to something you work alongside, operating behind the scenes and taking ownership of tasks.

Firms that get the foundations right now will be ready to power on. Firms that wait will be catching up while the shift is already underway.

This session will help you see where your firm stands, what to prioritise, and what to do next.
