Who Should Attend

You are a partner, principal, practice manager or in‑house counsel responsible for risk and governance.

This is for you if:

Your firm is already using AI informally or planning to, but your policy is not up to date.

You want clarity on what should be permitted, restricted and prohibited in 2026.

You want a practical, firm‑ready policy rather than another theoretical briefing.

What you will leave with

  • A complete AI policy for your firm, built from a template and customised to your practice context.

  • Clear positions on permitted, restricted and prohibited AI use covering the latest technological capabilities

  • A simple governance model (roles, approvals, oversight) that fits your size and structure.

  • A risk‑managed approach to privacy, confidentiality and data handling.

  • An implementation plan and review rhythm your leadership team can actually run.

We unpack, in plain language, the AI capabilities that matter for policy – AI‑powered browsers, prompt injection and poisoned content, AI agents and AI data connectors – then decide together how your firm wants to handle them in your AI policy.

Why this matters now?

Regulators, clients and courts are tightening expectations around AI use and evidence.

Many firms now have staff using AI tools, agents and AI‑powered browsers long before policy catches up.

Policies written without a clear view of what modern AI tools can actually do often miss key risks and opportunities.

Firms that move first on clear, usable AI policy will be better placed to manage risk and win work.

A growing number of matters already involve AI‑generated content or AI‑assisted workflows. When those are mishandled, firms face real risks to privilege, evidence and client trust.

Many AI policies today fail to cover the current capabilities of the technology and leave firms exposed.

What we will cover in 4 hours

    • Build a complete, ready‑to‑use AI policy live during the session.

    • Work from a template and tailor it to your firm’s context.

    • Cover AI tools, data residency, privacy, risk, verification, agents and safety controls.

    • Clarify what AI use is allowed, restricted or prohibited.

    • Understand admissibility rules and data storage requirements.

    • Address client confidentiality and how courts are viewing AI‑generated material.

    • Frame regulatory expectations for 2026.

    • Plan how to roll out the policy properly.

    • Decide how to train staff on safe use and avoid shadow AI.

    • Choose approved tools and introduce AI into workflows step‑by‑step.

    • Work through the key mandatory AI decisions every firm must document.

    • Set boundaries for staff, exceptions and review cycles.

    • Define escalation paths for AI risks.

    • Design a quarterly review framework.

    • Decide what needs updating as AI evolves and how to align with legal obligations.

    • Set triggers for revisiting approvals and risk settings.

    • Bring your own matters, scenarios and edge cases.

    • Get guidance on adapting the policy to different practice areas.

    • Slides, policy document and decision checklist.

    • Notes and examples you can reuse internally.

    • CPD‑style structure so firms can self‑claim hours.
