Only Verified Answers: AI Tools You Can Trust
Sometimes we need information that is accurate, complete and comprehensive.
Today, we’re diving into AI-powered research tools designed exactly for that.
Why not just use ChatGPT, Copilot or Gemini?
The mainstream tools. ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity. Can make things up.
They’re not always accurate.
That’s why there’s a whole new category of research tools specifically built for reliability.
Let me show you some. I’m not recommending them, just giving you a peek. Then I’ll tell you where I think this is all going.
Research tools in tax, law and health
In Tax research you can have a look at Luna from Empathetic AI and Cassandra Tax.
They both list relevant legislation, case law, and references. They differ in layout, depth and detail.
In legal: I show in the video Sana legal. From the same home as Cassandra Tax, and including legal databases from dozens of countries.
Law Cyborg is popular in New Zealand, both for accountants and lawyers.
In health: Consensus seems to be the most popular in health research. I asked an optometry question, and I like that it came back with research that says yes, research that says no, and research that is ambivalent.
What makes these tools different?
I could ask the same questions of ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot or Gemini.
So why do I need specialised research tools?
They’re promising us two things:
up to date information: the latest legislation, the latest case laws, the latest academic research
and accuracy. No hallucinations, which is really nice, isn’t it?
They’re using the same models behind the scenes but employing all sorts of techniques behind the scenes to make the answers more accurate.
Like limiting the model to only the database provided, asking the same question a few times or asking multiple models and comparing the results, getting the AI to double check the sources and so on.
They’re not promising 100% accuracy either, but they’re getting better results than the general models.
How do they compare?
Well, I think that they will all align to the same level on up-to-date information, accuracy and security.
The differentiators will be in the whole product experience: integrations, templates, information layout, ease of navigation for verified sources, that sort of thing.
Should you go and get one?
Bottomline: yes. I think this category is maturing fast.
These tools are no longer just noise and hype and shiny objects.
They’re not mature, but they’re definitely worth having a play with, to develop a sense for them and to see when one of them becomes something you really want to adopt into your workflow.
